LA Kids Giving Back Raises $650K for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

By: Hailey Miller and Lia Bhatia - June 20, 2024

We are beyond honored to share our story as the winners of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) 2024 Student Visionaries of the Year campaign. It was a journey filled with hard work, personal connections, and an unwavering determination to make a difference in the fight against blood cancers.

This campaign was personal for us. Both of us have strong ties to the medical field through our families, and we recently experienced the heartbreaking loss of a loved one to leukemia. That loss fueled our passion and commitment to support LLS’s mission to find cures and improve lives.

Together, we raised $650,000. We’re still in awe of what our team accomplished, and we couldn’t have done it without the incredible support from our family, friends, sponsors, and community. We are so grateful to have had each founder of CA Kids Giving Back join as a member of our team, Brooke Rowen, Taylor Rowen, and Leah Miller, Layla Bhatia.

Winning this title is about so much more than an award—it’s about honoring those we’ve lost, supporting those still fighting, and working toward a future where no family has to endure the pain of a blood cancer diagnosis.

We'd like to give a huge thanks to LLS for giving us this incredible opportunity. Let’s continue to fight until there’s a cure!

Lots of love,

Hailey, Lia, & Team Hope for a Cure
