CA Kids Kicks Off Second Annual Camp at OC Rescue Mission

OC Kids Giving Back

By Ashlee Strapp and Taylor Rowen

Our group of enthusiastic teen volunteers has been making a profound impact at the Orange County Rescue Mission again this summer! This shelter, a beacon of hope for many families experiencing homelessness, has welcomed CA Kids Giving Back volunteers for our second annual summer camp.

This summer, we are bringing back our Animal and Ocean themed camps, and a new themed camp – Barbie and Hot Wheels.  Recently, we brought Hot Wheels cars and driving tracks, and Barbie sunglasses and tattoos.  Whether it was a Barbie party or a Hot Wheels obstacle course, every moment was infused with laughter and joy.  We took the kids to a splash pad, and we had so much fun enjoying the summer sun.

None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of the Orange County Rescue Mission and its staff. Their dedication to serving the community laid the foundation for this transformative experience. Together with the teen volunteers, they created a safe and nurturing environment where children could thrive.

We can’t for many more fun adventures with the children this summer!
